LITURGICAL HARP RETREAT NOVEMBER 2-4, 2007 Amicalola Falls Lodge, North Georgia Mountains "Inspirational...educational...practical"
GENERAL INFORMATION Join us for a relaxing weekend getaway in a breathtaking setting in the North Georgia Mountains as we explore the use of the harp in its original context of a truly sacred instrument. Workshops will be offered on worship, technique, repertoire and history. Taize' prayer will be offered throughout the conference, with teaching on this unique ecumenical form of musical worship. Several concerts will feature liturgical harpists and vocalists demonstrating the possibilities of sacred music for lever and pedal harp. Amicalola Falls Lodge is located approximately one and a half hours north of Atlanta, Georgia, in a prime location at the top of one of North Georgia's highest peaks. Panaromic views of the mountains are available from all rooms in the Lodge, and the surrounding forests offer opportunities for hiking, meditation and communion with nature. The Falls are spectacular from both the top and base and are some of the highest and most dramatic in Georgia. RETREAT VENUE
The Lodge at Amicalola Falls State Park offers the perfect setting for retreat events as well as lodging and meals. The rooms are deluxe and offer comfortable, modern conveniences, and the restaurant, with its panoramic mountain views, is acclaimed for delicious buffet meals. Specialities of the restaurant include an incredible fresh seafood buffet on Friday night and featured prime rib on Saturday night.
